These are the thoughts of Ho Yu P1 & P2 students:
“I have finally obtained the red badge, becoming the Captain Warrior.” “When I complete my DEAR journey in two years, I will put on the yellow badge and embark on the journey of knowledge exploration as a Senior Expeditioner. I believe that ‘DEARLAND’ will be the guidance through my path of learning.” “At P1, what I enjoyed the most was to travel around Ho Yu Island on the bullet train.” “At P2, my best memory was to collect all the energy cubes, start the plane engine and explore the world. Look! My blue badge is the proof!” “I gave my best on my journey. This green badge for Warrior is the reward for my effort.” On 26th July, Ho Yu’s DEARs (P1 & P2 children) attended the DEAR Award Ceremony. At the event, the island owner, Principal Leung Wai Fong, praised all DEARs for their persistence in completing the four missions (reading, fun dictation, calligraphy, and exercise) in their personal time, laying out the foundation for them to become their own ‘Learning Master’. After the encouragement from the island owner, Principal Leung Wai Fong, DEARs received their awards on the stage one by one. They were promoted according to their performance throughout the journey. P1 DEARs got promoted as ‘Warrior’ or ‘Captain Warrior’, while P2 DEARs were appointed as ‘Expeditioner’ or ‘Senior Expeditioner’. It is hoped that they will continue to explore and step-by-step build their pathway towards ‘Self-Directed Learning’ in senior primary school. Putting on their level-up badges, DEARs were spirited up. They promised to continue their daily reading, new word learning and exercise with the best attitude. Following that, all DEARs did Ho Yu Dance and sang ‘Be Moral, You Can Do It’ together, putting a perfect closure to the ceremony. DEARs, we are proud of you! May you continue to soar high with a colorful future! |
