星期五的下午(10月12日)，是小一滿月活動舉行的日子，我們的小一同學加入可譽這個大家庭，升讀小學一個月了。當天禮堂相當熱鬧，大部分同學的爸爸媽媽都撥冗出席活動，與同學和老師歡聚，見證孩子成長重要的一刻。當天，小一班主任上台分享同學的學習情況，我們還邀請了家長和其他級別的同學上台分享，訴說學習生活的點滴。每位小一同學都會收到老師的心意卡和小禮品。我們期望，孩子能夠在可譽健康快樂地成長，成為一個熱愛學習的人。在成長路上，爸爸媽媽、老師從不缺席，身邊還有同窗好友並肩而行，這是多麼值得感恩的事啊！

The arrival of a baby is a joyful event that is marked in Chinese culture by a number of different customs and rituals. A month after confinement, mother and child are presented to friends and relatives with a full moon celebration. This celebration is held to celebrate that the baby has survived the first month of their life, which means that they are more likely to survive into adulthood.

Following this custom, P.1 Full Moon Celebration is held every year to celebrate our P.1 students’ first month of joyful school life at Ho Yu and it symbolizes the sustainable survival of them. More importantly, it provides a chance for them to show gratitude to their parents, teachers and fellow students for loving and caring for them.

This year, we were delighted to see the presence of more than 100 parents who came to witness the grow th of their children at Ho Yu. They enjoyed listening to the sharing by the class teachers (P.1), parent (P.2) and fellow students (P.2 and P.4). Also, they gave a big round of applause after watching the P.1 students’ performances. Before taking a large group photo, each child was presented a small gift and a greeting card prepared by their class teachers. No wonder everyone brought the warmth and happiness home.

可譽常識科主題式研習課程開展了！各位高小學生按照他們的意願，研習他們有興趣的課題。今年，「綠色生活」為可譽同學帶來了水耕種植。所謂水耕種植，是一種以營養液在水中栽種植物的技術，種植過程無需土壤，這種種植方法已經成為世界各地生產農作物的重要方法。

十月十九日早上，可譽禮堂鬧哄哄的，大夥兒迎接歌手許廷鏗的到來。現場歡呼聲不絕，同學熱切期待許廷鏗為他們分享音樂路上的難忘經歷。

「在音樂路上，請問你是否平步青雲？」很多人眼中，許廷鏗的人生相當順利。他坦言，他是一位幸運兒，他真心喜歡做牙醫，喜歡幫人，長大後他成為了牙醫。他也很喜歡唱歌，希望寓興趣於事業，長大他成為了一位歌手。能夠在歌手、牙醫兩個事業均得到平衡發展，許廷鏗感到十分滿足。可譽司儀問及比較難忘的經歷，許廷鏗說，在一次與巨聲幫參與的紅館演唱，他忙於準備演出的同時，其實他還要應付牙科的畢業試。演唱完畢，回到後台，他要繼續忙於準備考試。憑著他的毅力，他順利度過難關。

台下的可譽同學為之讚嘆，怎麼可以同時兼顧兩個業務這麼繁重的工作？許廷鏗的分享，讓可譽同學深深感受到，做人要有夢想，要敢於實踐夢想。在奮鬥的過程中，要全程投入。經過努力，人才會進步。盡力過後，就會有機會展現才華，獲得肯定。

In the morning of 19^th October, Alfred Hui, a qualified dentist cum artiste, was welcomed by us with cheers and applause in our campus.

Able to both serve his patients as a dentist and showcase his passion for singing, Alfred frankly spoke about luck in his career success. While he was studying dentistry at the university, he rose to fame after he had won a TV singing contest.

About an unforgettable experience, Alfred recalled putting on a concert with other vocalists in the Hong Kong Coliseum. As the final year exam of the university was held on the next day of the show, he was busy preparing for it at the backstage after his performance. With his hard work, he passed the exam with flying colours.

Alfred could manage the heavy workload of being both a dentist and a singer. He believed devotion and perseverance to realizing his dreams was the key to success.

Let’s be proactive and work towards our dreams!

尊重生命   逆境同行

好心情@可譽

本年度「齊惜福活動」開展了！這個活動是透過講座(香港廚餘問題)、工作坊(使用廚餘機)、種植班(有機耕作及善用堆肥)，以及參觀「齊惜福油塘社區廚房」，讓同學了解當前的廚餘問題，培養對待食物的正確態度。我們在「譽花園」的溫室外設置廚餘機，協助學校把廚餘轉化為有機堆肥，並於校內推行有機種植，為環保出一分力。

We are joining a ‘Food For Good @ Campus’ programme which aims to raise students’ awareness and knowledge of the issue of food waste and its positive solutions. Our students get involved in various educational activities such as a talk about ‘Food waste problem’, a workshop on ‘how to use food waste machines’, a gardening class about ‘organic farming and compost’ and a visit to ‘Food For Good Yau Tong Community Kitchen’.

In our Yu Garden, we have already installed a food waste machine to produce organic compost for organic farming. By recycling the leftovers and using them in our garden, we are taking small steps towards a more eco-friendly life.
